CBC-CONVENIO-FONAG-23

Quito´s Water Fund and Tesalia Springs cbc, which is part of cbc corporation, subscribed an institutional cooperation agreement that compromises to develop sensitivity tasks through environmental educational processes and vegetal coverage restoration, in order to recuperate and maintain water recharge areas and water provision for human and productive use in the Quito metropolitan district.

The environmental education models are:  the importance of the forest and moor conservation, the responsible use of water in the community, the importance of the ravine, and the adequate management of waste.

In the protection tasks, 7 kms. of the San Pedro riverbank in Cantón Mejía, Pichincha Province, will be intervened.  The vegetal coverage restoration will be done with native species.

The agreement was subscribed by the engineer Bert De Briever, Technical Secretary representing Quito´s Water Fund, and Rosa María de Frade, Corporate Affairs Director at cbc.  They both agree in the importance of these joint actions for the protection of the hydrological recharge areas, a task that is comprehensive and that requires the participation of government institutions, the private sector companies, national, international and community entities.

Tesalia – cbc is part of this initiative since 2007.
