cbc, together with other important sponsors, support the road safety campaign developed by the Motor Club from Guatemala and the International Automobile Federation (FIA).  The campaign includes three key messages oriented to reduce the drivers, companions and others risks.

The messages are:

1) Pay attention while driving.  Especially, do not use the cell phone.

2) Observe the speed limit.

3) Always drive sober.

These messages were taken from the 10 Gold Rules for Safe Driving of FIA.

This program continues the initiative started in 2011 by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the United Nations, when they launched together the movement “One Decade of Action for Road Safety” that wants to save 5 million lives around the world by 2020.

Mauricio Roque, Vice-President for the Guatemalan Motor Club and manager of the Pedro Cofiño Racetrak, explained that they want to avoid accidents.  “We have an enormous quantity of vehicles in the country and we need to awaken the conscience of most pilots that there are rules that have to be obeyed to drive safely”.

Yara González, Public Relations at cbc, said:  “For cbc it is very important to support this campaign, together with other sponsors. This campaign contributes to create conscience about the safe driving rules.  To avoid accidents it is always important to have a responsible attitude towards our companions and other people and also with ourselves”.
